Lisa Mulrooney

Lisa Mulrooney is the first Poet Laureate of Stony Plain, Alberta. She has a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature and a master's degree in Education. Her work has been published in The Maynard and one of her poems was recently shortlisted for The Malahat Review's Open Season Award in Poetry.
When Lisa accepted the role of Poet Laureate in February, she started writing and publicly posting a haiku every day (intent on learning more about haiku and all of its intricacies). She has committed to continuing to share a haiku every day until her term concludes in 2021.
Lisa is the President and Co-founder of Parkland Poets in Stony Plain, the Secretary for Edmonton's Stroll of Poets Society, and a member-at-large on the board of the Writers' Guild of Alberta.
