Elizabeth Crocket
Elizabeth is an award-winning Canadian poet and author. She has had two books shortlisted for the prestigious
Haiku Foundation Touchstone Distinguished Books Award.
Elizabeth has been the featured artist in The Haiku Foundation Haiga Galleries twice, showcasing both her collage-haiga
and her photo-haiga. She was the co-judge of The Nicholas A. Virgilio Memorial Haiku and Senryu Contest in 2020.
Elizabeth won the photographic category for the 2nd Jane Reichhold Memorial Contest in 2017. Her senryu placed second
in the H. Gene Murtha Contest in 2019 and was highly commended in 2023. Her photo-haiga was commissioned by the
City of Burlington, Ontario for an outdoor art and writing display in 2021.
She has been widely published by most of the leading journals, including Modern Haiku, Frogpond, the Heron’s Nest, Mayfly,
Haiku Canada Review, Contemporary Haibun, Shamrock Haiku Journal, Ribbons: Tanka Society of America, Prune Juice, The Asahi,
the Mainichi, Makota (European Haiku Society), NHK World Japan, Daily Haiga, and many more.
